DUI Penalties in Alabama

When you are arrested for a DUI in Alabama, and you have a prior DUI conviction, a conviction for that DUI is a very serious matter. In Alabama, as many other states, DUI laws have become quite punitive. A conviction for a second DUI offense requires a minimum of 48 hours in jail or 20 days community service. The fine is not less than $1,000 dollars to $5,000 dollars. There is an additional $100 fine assessed for Impaired Drivers Trust Fund. Your license will be suspended for 1year.
